Organizations Supporting Organic Farming Education or Research ATTRA - National Sustainable Agriculture Information Service ATTRA - National Sustainable Agriculture Information Service, funded by the US Department of Agriculture, is managed by the National Center for Appropriate Technology. It provides information and other technical assistance to farmers, ranchers, Extension agents, educators, and others involved in sustainable agriculture in the United States.
Carolina Farm Stewardship Association CFSA's mission is to support and expand local and organic agriculture in the Carolinas by inspiring, educating, and organizing farmers and consumers.
Certified Organic Associations of British Columbia Cyber-Help For Organic Farmers: Our objective is to encourage organic and alternative food production in Canada by improving accessibility to quality organic farming content online, while upgrading farmers' capacities to access that information. OFRF - Organic Farming Research Foundation The Organic Farming Research Foundation is a non-profit whose mission is to sponsor research related to organic farming practices, to disseminate research results to organic farmers and to growers interested in adopting organic production systems, and to educate the public and decision-makers about organic farming issues. OSU Small Farms Extension Newsletter Oregon Small Farm News is a free online newsletter that concentrates on both commercial small farm entrepreneurs as well as non-commercial small acreage landowners. Their focus embraces organic/biological and conventional farming systems and emphasizes three areas:
- Small Acreage Stewardship - Addressing enterprises, land management and soil and water quality for non-commercial small acreage's.
- Commercial Small Farms - Entrepreneurial Agriculture Addressing high value horticulture, livestock and poultry, and alternative crop production emphasizing organic and pasture-based systems and specialty and niche production.
- Community Food Systems - Address alternative and specialty marketing through creation and enhancement of local and regional food systems and farm direct marketing channels.
Rural Advancement Foundation International - USA RAFI-USA is dedicated to community, equity and diversity in agriculture. While focusing on North Carolina and the southeastern United States, we also work nationally and internationally. RAFI-USA is playing a leadership role in responding to major agricultural trends and creating a movement among farm, environmental and consumer groups to: Promote sustainable agriculture; Strengthen family farms and rural communities; Protect the diversity of plants, animals and people; Ensure responsible use of new technologies.
