Organic Seed Alliance is excited to welcome Kristina Hubbard to the staff as an Advocacy Program Specialist.
You many have noticed that she’s a regulator contributor on the OSA Seed Broadcast blog. She’s also been working with OSA on contract for nearly a year on the State of Organic Seed project, and will continue to contribute to that project, along with facilitating OSA working group activities on concentration in the seed industry and contamination of organic seed systems.Read more
We’re lucky to have her on the team, as for nearly ten years Kristina has been a leader in efforts to educate and organize farmers, consumers and policymakers on a variety of initiatives aimed at moving U.S. agriculture toward sustainable farming practices. She’s worked with Center for Rural Affairs, National Family Farmer Coalition’s “Farmer to Farmer Campaign”, Western Organization of Resource Councils, and Center for Food Safety. Her work includes co-authoring the report Monsanto vs. U.S. Farmers, and authoring Out of Hand: Farmers Face the Consequences of a Consolidated Seed Industry, a report examining the impacts of market concentration on farmers and plant genetic resources; working with the Montana Legislature to pass a bill supporting community-based food systems.
Welcome Kristina!
